Siemens
Enterprise Communications, rebranded as Unify, was part of a German multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Munich, Germany.
Siemens was the largest Europe-based electronics and electrical engineering
company and has many divisions including
telecommunications. In 2015 it was announced that the French IT services
company Atos would purchase Unify from The Gores Group/Siemens. One of
Unify's primary product brands remains HiPath and OpenScape systems
(converged enterprise communications), both of which have been discontinued. The
hiPath series ended in 2017. Mitel has since taken over the brand. For
companies still operating with either of these systems, chances are high that
a major system change to a newer PBX system is in order.
